On 18 October, Consul General Tang Rui attended the welcome dinner hosted by Chee Kung Tong (UK) in Liverpool for the China Zhi Gong Party delegation headed by Executive Vice-chairman of Central Committee Zhang Endi, and delivered a speech. Leaders of overseas Chinese associations and representatives of overseas and ethnic Chinese from all over the UK attended the dinner. 

In his speech, Consul General Tang Rui welcomed Executive Vice Chairman Zhang Endi’s visit to Chee Kung Tong (UK), saying that Chee Kung Tong (UK) is one of the oldest Chinese associations in the UK and one of the most important Chinese associations in the region, and over the past 120 years, it has done a lot to unite and serve generations of overseas Chinese and to promote Chinese culture. Chee Kung Tong (UK) and the China Zhi Gong Party are similar in name, history and bloodline, and have a natural bond. He was looking forward to closer communications and interactions between the two sides, promoting better development of Chee Kung Tong (UK) and other overseas Chinese communities in the region and integrating into the local society, thus making new contributions to the people-to-people bonds between China and the UK. 

Executive Vice-chairman Zhang Endi said that the China Zhi Gong Party and Chee Kung Tong (UK) are naturally bonded, and have maintained close interactions over the years. The China Zhi Gong Party will take this visit and exchange as an opportunity to further give play to the unique role of overseas Chinese, and to contribute to the development of the country and to the exchanges between the two peoples. 

Before the dinner, President of Chee Kung Tong (UK) He Liguang introduced the history and recent developments of the association, and had in-depth exchanges with the delegation of China Zhi Gong Party on such issues as strengthening the ties between overseas Chinese and their home countries.
