Consul General Tang Rui Meets with the Vice Chancellor and President of the University of York

On 30 April, Consul General Tang Rui met with Professor Charlie Jeffery, President of the University of York, and his delegation to exchange views on topics such as the development of Chinese and British education, cultural inheritance and communication, and educational cooperation between the University of York and China. Counsellor Liang Yan attended the meeting.

Consul General Tang stated that China attaches great importance to education and technology, and encourages Chinese universities to actively engage in exchanges and cooperation with foreign universities. He stated that the University of York has long attached great importance to cooperation with China, and its cooperation with Chinese universities has diverse forms and fruitful results. Facts show that education cooperation between China and the UK is beneficial to both sides. It is hoped that the University of York and Chinese universities will further expand the forms and areas of cooperation, creating more opportunities for mutual exchange and common growth between Chinese and British youth.

Professor Charlie Jeffery stated that the University of York values cooperation with China and will continue to promote practical exchanges in the fields of education and culture between the UK and China, cultivating more versatile international talents.
