Consul General Tang Rui Meets with the new Lord Mayor of Manchester

    On June 20, Consul General Tang Rui paid a courtesy call on the new Lord Mayor of Manchester, Paul Andrews, at the Manchester Town Hall, engaging in in-depth exchange on enhancing cooperation between the two sides.

    Consul General Tang Rui congratulated Andrews on his appointment, noting that Manchester is the most important city in northern England, with development advantages in fields such as the digital economy, biomedicine, creative media, clean energy, and new materials research and development. Since Manchester and Wuhan became sister cities, they have engaged in close exchanges across various sectors, making it a model for China-UK regional cooperation. The Consulate General is willing to continue promoting further cooperation between the two cities, contributing to the sustained, healthy, and stable development of China-UK relations.

    Lord Mayor Andrews highly praised China's economic and social achievements and expressed the view that Manchester attaches great importance to developing relations with China. He also showed willingness to work with the Chinese side to elevate practical cooperation in various fields to new heights.
