Consul General Tang Rui Attends "Chengdu-Sheffield Sister City Relationship" Roundtable

Recently, Consul General Tang Rui was invited to attend the "Chengdu-Sheffield Sister City Relationship" roundtable, where he engaged in in-depth discussions with various parties from Sheffield on deepening the sister city relationship between the two cities. The Chief Executive of Sheffield City Council, the head of the economic development department of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, the Chairman of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sheffield, and the former UK Minister of State for Trade were among the attendees.

Consul General Tang Rui commended Sheffield City Council for prioritizing and actively promoting the sister city relationship with Chengdu. He stated that there is enormous potential and broad prospects for cooperation between the two cities, and expressed hope that both sides would comprehensively strengthen cooperation in various fields such as green development, economic and trade investment, education, and cultural exchanges, to better benefit the people of both sides.

Kate Josephs CB, The Chief Executive of Sheffield City Council, introduced the overview of Sheffield's urban profile and its development plans, expressing willingness to actively promote all-round cooperation between Sheffield and Chengdu to achieve mutually beneficial development. The attending representatives engaged in lively discussions and in-depth exchanges on practical cooperation in various fields for the next stage from their respective areas of expertise. The meeting achieved positive outcomes.
