On October 30, Consul General Tang Rui met with Clive Memmott, CEO of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, for in-depth discussions on enhancing economic and trade cooperation.
Consul General Tang began by briefing on the guiding principles from the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC. He noted that since the previous meeting, the Consulate General has maintained close communication with the Chamber and actively participated in events such as China-themed seminars organized by the Chamber. Moving forward, the Consulate General looks forward to strengthening cooperation with the Chamber, and hopes the Chamber will assist in inviting member enterprises to participate in upcoming events, including the UK-China Clean Energy Forum to be held in Manchester, as well as key events in China such as the China International Import Expo and the China International Supply Chain Expo.
Memmott expressed his admiration for China’s significant achievements. He highlighted the considerable potential for cooperation between China and the Greater Manchester area, especially in fields such as clean energy and artificial intelligence. The Chamber highly values deepening its connection with the Consulate General and is committed to encouraging interested enterprises to participate in these events,to enhance local economic and trade cooperation between the UK and China.
