Consul General Tang Rui Meets with Delegation from the Central Conservatory of Music

On October 29, Consul General Tang Rui met with a delegation from the Central Conservatory of Music, and was invited to attend the China-UK Joint Concert on October 31,which was organized in partnership between the Central Conservatory of Music with Chetham's School of Music. Counsellor Liang Yan also attended.

During the meeting, Consul General Tang praised the Central Conservatory of Music as one of Chinas leading music institutions, known for its high prestige and significant international influence. He emphasized the achievements of the first "Chinese Music Classroom," which was jointly established by the Central Conservatory of Music andChetham's School of Music, noting its unique contributions to China-UK music education and cultural exchange. Tang expressed hope that the Conservatory would continue to promote international cooperation in music education, building upon its established exchange programs.

Yu Hongmei, Chairwoman of the University Council of the Central Conservatory of Music, expressed the Conservatorys commitment to embracing new, inclusive approaches to education that align with China's policy of education opening up. She expressed the Conservatorys willingness to actively participate in local UK arts and cultural events, collaborating with partner institutions to contribute to the diversity and development of global music education through high-quality Chinese music education.

The China-UK Joint Concert brought together outstanding young musicians from the Central Conservatory of Music Middle School and Chethams School of Music. The students performed a selection of classical pieces from both Chinese and Western repertoires, and presented their original compositions for the first time. The young musicians from China and the UK, filled with youthful confidence, collaborated harmoniously on stage, attentively listening to each other and elevating the  atmosphere of friendly cultural exchange to a peak.

On the evening of the 31st, the China-UK Joint Concerttook place atthe Carole Nash Hall of Chetham’s School of Music, with Consul General Tang Rui attending as an honored guest and delivering remarks.
