On November 17, Consul General Tang Rui attended the 2025 China-UK Clean Energy Cooperation Forum in Manchester. The Forum brought together some 150 participants, including  Representative of Manchester City Council Leader Bev Craig, Councillor Tracey Rawlings, Deputy Leader of Liverpool City Council Councillor Steve Small, Vice Chairman of Wuhan Municipal Committee of the Chinese People‘s Political Consultative Conference Mr. Luo Lianfeng; Chairman of the China Chamber of Commerce in the UK Mr. Fang Wenjian; and representatives of local governments from Greater Manchester, South Yorkshire, Chongqing and other Chinese and British cities, as well as businesses and academic institutions from both countries.

Ambassador Zheng Zeguang sent a congratulatory letter to the Forum. In his message, Ambassador Zheng stated that China is a steadfast doer and important contributor to global green development. He noted that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China made it clear that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China will remain committed to the path of high-quality development that prioritizes ecological conservation and pursues green and low-carbon growth. It is hoped that all parties will make full use of the forum to achieve continued progress in dialogue and cooperation. Consul General Tang Rui noted the alignment of policy goals between China and the UK, and expressed the hope to translate potential into tangible outcomes.

Participants held in-depth discussions on green development cooperation and visited the exhibition booths of enterprises.
