Consul General and Interim Vice-Chancellor of Lancaster University Communicate by Letter

Recently, Consul General Zheng Xiyuan communicated by letter with Professor Steve Bradly, Interim Vice-Chancellor of Lancaster University, to exchange views on the collaboration between the two sides in the fight against COVID-19 and safeguarding the safety of Chinese students of the University.

 
Professor Steve Bradly expressed his gratitude in his letter to Consul General for providing the health kits for Chinese students, which greatly relieved the psychological stress of the students and their parents. He stressed that the university put emphasis on ensuring safety of its Chinese students during the pandemic and had taken various measures to assist them. He said the university would continue to strengthen communication and collaboration with Chinese Consulate General in Manchester to help stay-on Chinese students.

In the letter to Professor Steve Bradly, Consul General Zheng expressed sincere appreciation to the university for taking care of Chinese students at such difficult times. He commended on Lancaster University Confucius Institute being awarded a 2019 ‘Confucius Institute of the Year’ and pointed out that the government of Weihai, where its overseas campus is located donated PPEs to Lancaster, showcasing the deep-rooted friendship between both peoples and the joint resolve to win the battle against the virus. Consul General Zheng congratulated on Professor Andy Schofield being onto his new role as the Vice-Chancellor of Lancaster University. He hoped the new leadership finds the friendship and cooperation between both sides thrive and Chinese students continue to receive support and care from the university.
