Deputy Consul General Fan Yingjie and wife were invited to join the Chinese New Year Celebrations held for the first time in York by York City Council in the company of Consul Lyu Xiaomei.

Deputy Consul General commended York City Council for its attention on exploring cooperation with China and support of local Chinese communities and looked forward to seeing a closer relationship between York and China, that shall benefit both peoples.

The Lord Mayor of York Cllr. Boyce praised local Chinese communities for their great contribution to York's growth and hoped to welcome more Chinese visitors, businesses and students to York.
