On the eve of the Lantern Festival, February 23, Consul General Tang Rui visited Chinatown in Manchester. He met with local Chinese business owners and members of overseas Chinese community, extending his regards and distributing Spring Festival Kits.

Consul General Tang first extended his warm Lantern Festival wishes to everyone, and inquired in detail about the business operations of the merchants and the daily lives of the overseas Chinese community. He expressed his hopes that in the Year of the Dragon, business would enjoy prosperity and flourishing business, and that all members of overseas Chinese would enjoy good health and smooth endeavors. He emphasized that the Consulate General would continue to adhere to the concept of "people-centered diplomacy" and strive to provide better services for overseas Chinese.

Li Zhejian, Vice President of the Federation of Chinese Associations of Manchester and President of the Manchester Chinatown Neighborhood Chamber of Commerce, attended the event.
