On 15 June, Consul General Tang Rui attended the celebration marking the 10th anniversary of Hainan Airlines' Manchester–Beijing route. Among those present were the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Shaukat Ali; Safety Director of Hainan Airlines, Mr. Liu Yongde; Managing Director of Manchester Airport, Mr. Chris Woodroofe, and Director of the China National Tourist Office London, Mr. Zhang Li.

Consul General Tang Rui noted that the launch of the Manchester–Beijing route was an important outcome of President Xi Jinping's visit to Manchester in 2015. Over the past decade, Hainan Airlines has operated the route safely and steadily, contributing to people-to-people exchanges and practical cooperation between China and the North of England. Earlier this year, Prime Minister Keir Starmer paid a successful visit to China, and China introduced its unilateral visa-free policy for UK citizens. He expressed the hope that Hainan Airlines would continue to make new contributions to China–UK cooperation. Lord Mayor Ali and other guests commended the route for promoting people-to-people exchanges between the two countries and supporting local economic and trade development. They also expressed the hope that more direct flights would be introduced in the future.

During the celebration, the organizers also held a presentation promoting tourism in China.
