Consul General Tang Rui stated that this year marks the beginning of China's "15th Five-Year Plan" period, and that China is currently advancing Chinese modernization through high-quality development. Recently, President Xi Jinping spoke by telephone with Prime Minister Burnham. Prime Minister Burnham mentioned that he had served as Mayor of Greater Manchester for many years and had maintained friendly exchanges with China over the years. He also recalled President Xi’s visit to Manchester in 2015, which had an important impact on advancing local exchanges and cooperation with China. Under the stewardship and guidance of the leaders of both countries, it is believed that friendly exchanges and local cooperation between the two sides will continue to deliver fruitful results. Guests from various sectors expressed hope for stronger China-UK relations and for closer ties that continue to bring greater benefits to the people of both countries.

At the reception, British artists and local Chinese artists, including compatriots from Taiwan, jointly presented a series of performances, including dances and songs, which were met with enthusiastic applause and cheers from the audience.
